A full set of all three shapes in this rare, top quality set of top size armorial counters. With full heraldic details - arms with impalement, crest, helm of a gentleman, motto and even a monogram - but the arms do not seem to be recorded. Perhaps made for a secret society? Or for a society like the Knights Templar ( In Hoc Sogno Vinces was actually their motto). This rare set of all three shapes was made in top quality m-o-p circa 1840 in Canton. Deep-carved decoration and superbly fretted border were the marks of the finest quality counters made to order in Canton.
