Rare 'Voltarete' scoring rules

A Chinese gaming counter of exceptional size and quality. This counter was made circa 1810 and to one side has the complicated scoring rules for the game of Voltarete - a card game which was extremely popular at this time. This was probably for the Portuguese market. To the other side is a superb full scene. This is probably the largest size of counter produced ( 57 mm.  diameter) and is made of top quality mother-of-pearl. A very rare counter.
