MAGNIFICENT DEEP-CARVED ARMORIAL COUNTER

Dimensions:

An amazing counter in large size in a bespoke style (? possibly a whist marker set of fourteen counters?). A wealth of heraldic detail  - the demi-lion holds a caduceus, so possibly a medical connection, arms with impalement and a naval  theme to the motto ( safe in port) and even a solid clue in the monogram WEK- but despite all this I have failed miserably to discover who it was made for. A fabulous and mysterious counter.
