Set of five counters with canted corners and an unusual border made circa 1770 for DUVAL D'EPREMESNIL with VINCENT accollee. As was the fashion at this time the reverses showed the four card suits. J-J Duval d'Epremesnil was born at Pondicherry in India; he became a magistrate in France and was guillotined in 1794 in the revolution.
